“Món Quà Quê Hương” by Nguyễn Tuấn Dũng
Nguyen Tuan Dung, was born in 1990 in Thanh Hoa in Central Vietnam. He now lives in Vietnam, where he dedicates himself to art and teaching.
The realism of Nguyen Tuan Dung’s artwork is striking, over the newspaper background, the artist’s subjects are brought to life with chiselled details and shadows. By painting on newspaper on canvas, the world’s events become the real canvas on which the artist is painting, so that he can represent the personal lives of the people through the evolving and ever-changing world.
“My Art studies have left me with a puzzling question: How to truthfully share the personal identity of the characters I see living around me? I couldn’t achieve this through my portraits and landscapes, until I realized the potential of the objects. Sometimes personal objects can reveal so much more than what we see at first glance.” From a tiny sidewalk café in this Hanoi Street, Nguyen Tuan Dung says:“See, this bicycle? It is a very old model, the black paint is coming off, yet it is still very strong. It must have travelled between the farm and the city so many times, carrying its load of paddy. The fruits left hanging on the handle must have been in the hands of a little child, and his parents were taking him back to their home in the midday heat. They must live in a simple house, close to the rice fields that undulate in the wind. Now, I start to become part of this life, and to see it in my mind, and even feel it.”
The series of his artworks in collaboration with TiA Talent is an exclusive reproduced collection. These art prints still remain the artist’s aesthetical concept and their high quality.
