Biography

Marie Huguen is a visual artist living in Villeurbanne (Lyon, France).

She discovered her love for art at a young age, spending her time imagining, drawing, and creating. She turned her passion into a career as a graphic designer, but the professional art world left her disillusioned.

Seeking more meaningful endeavours, she now fullfills her daily need for creative expression as an independent artist and graphic designer, crafting a unique story through her art.

Artistic Approach

Marie Huguen draws her primary inspiration from the intricacies of life—its complexity, abundance, and the myriad forms and colours it unfolds. Each element, be it from the plant, mineral, animal, or marine realms, evokes a profound sense of admiration. The diverse shapes, whether geometric, intertwined, or fractal, hold a mesmerising sway over her. Notably, flowers and leaves serve as an endless wellspring of creative inspiration.

From these natural forms, Marie conjures images that demand expression on paper. Her artistic process involves transcending reality, sublimating it, and at times distorting it to craft an imaginative realm. Her aim is to weave a thread of dreams into the fabric of reality, constructing worlds that defy the confines of the tangible.

Within each creation, she intertwines diverse forms that engage in a visual dialogue, giving rise to new shapes through the interplay of highlighted counter-forms. These harmonious blends generate a dynamic sense of movement, echoing the lively spirit of nature.
